Our heartbeat at Reef to Outback is helping young people and with over 72,000 young people in North Queensland alone, we’ve got our work cut out for us! While today’s youth are facing incredible challenges, they are also equipped with the most amazing resources and we believe they have a part to play in the world.
Come hang out with youth from all across the city; get involved in activities like skateboarding, music, art, media, dance, and sport. Youth Street Teams is a place where you can be yourself, have fun, and bring your mates along! Get amongst it!
In the 1970s World Vision's focus broadened from assisting the individual child to include community development. Since the 1980s, the "welfare" approach has gradually changed to a more collaborative relationship. Poor, marginalised people and communities work with World Vision to improve their lives and take control of their futures.
Compassion's ministry to children is distinctly Christian. Our child development programs are unique in that they are: - Christ-centred
- Child-focused
- Church-based
This clear and consistent Christian identity is something that we never seek to hide or compromise in our communications. Indeed, this is the main reason why so many people chose to sponsor a child through Compassion.
"This is me. This is who I am.... Encouraged throughout my entire childhood to follow my dreams, but not only to follow them, catch them and make them real, I have been able to do some amaxing things in my life, and I'm only a 21 year old girl with a passion... My art is life."
